Financial support for greater safety at home.

SmartLife Care collaborates with numerous insurance companies and partner organizations that offer their customers and members discounted rates on our emergency call devices. These partnerships make it easier to access modern safety technology and significantly reduce costs.

For recipients of supplementary benefits (EL), several cantons already cover the full cost of emergency call devices and annual subscriptions. As a result, recipients bear neither the purchase nor the usage costs.

Following the parliamentary decision in the summer of 2025, reimbursement for EL recipients will apply nationwide in the future. Full implementation is expected by 2027 at the latest. In cantons where cost coverage is not yet in effect, SmartLife Care is offering a 25% discount on the annual subscription until then.

Cantonal Cost Coverage for Individuals Receiving Supplementary Benefits (EL)

As part of efforts to strengthen outpatient care, Parliament decided in 2025 to reimburse the costs of emergency call systems for EL recipients throughout Switzerland. Several cantons are already implementing this mandate and are currently covering the full costs—including the device and annual subscription.

Nationwide implementation is expected by 2027. This funding not only enhances safety and independence in old age but also reduces the burden on public finances, as it is expected to delay the need for nursing home admission and lower long-term care costs.

In cantons that do not currently cover these costs, SmartLife Care offers direct relief: EL recipients receive a 25% discount on the annual subscription.
To qualify, simply submit the EL decision to SmartLife Care’s customer service within 10 days of registration.
